Cookie Policy
Cookies are small files websites drop on your device to remember things. We use them sparingly. Some are necessary for the site to work, others help us see what's slow or broken. We don't use cookies to track you across the web for advertising. If you want to turn off the non-essential ones, the cookie banner lets you do that on every visit.
01 What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. We use the word "cookies" in this policy as shorthand for similar technologies too: pixels, beacons, local storage, session storage.
02 Why we use them
- To make the site work: navigation, security, form submissions.
- To remember your preferences (including your cookie choices).
- To understand how the site is used: what's popular, what's broken, what's slow.
- To improve the site over time, based on what we learn.
We don't use cookies to build advertising profiles about you. We don't share cookie data with advertisers.
03 The cookies we use
Strictly necessary
- Session cookies, keep your session active while you browse. Expire when you close the browser.
- Security cookies, protect against fraudulent activity. Short expiration.
- Consent storage, remembers your cookie preferences so we don't ask every visit. 12 months.
Functional
- Accessibility preferences, reduced motion, text size, contrast. 12 months.
- Form helpers, remember partially filled forms. Cleared when submitted or after 7 days.
Analytics
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) — measures page views, traffic sources, and aggregate visitor behavior so we can improve the site. IP addresses are anonymized where supported. Retention 14 months. Only loads after you accept analytics cookies. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Marketing
We do not currently run paid advertising or use marketing pixels (Meta, LinkedIn, Google Ads). If that changes, this section gets updated and the cookie banner will ask for fresh consent.
04 Third-party cookies
Some pages of the site may embed third-party content — a video, a social post, a scheduling tool. Those embeds can set their own cookies, governed by their own policies. We try to use privacy-respecting or no-cookie versions where they exist.
05 Your choices
The first time you visit cmykink.io, a banner appears asking what you're comfortable with. You can:
- Accept all cookies.
- Reject all non-essential cookies.
- Choose category-by-category.
- Change your choices any time by clicking "Cookie settings" in the site footer.
06 Do Not Track
Modern browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal if you turn it on. Because there's no agreed-upon industry standard for how websites should respond, we treat DNT as a signal but rely on the consent banner for the actual control.
07 Updates to this policy
If we add or remove tools that set cookies, we update this policy. Material changes (anything that broadens what we collect or who we share it with) we'll re-prompt for consent through the banner.
Send them to hello@cmykink.io. We answer.
